Who is responsible

Thindi Holdings Inc., 400 College St, Toronto, Ontario M5T 1S8, is responsible for the personal information collected through this portal. Questions, requests for access, and complaints go to hi@thindi.ca.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what the franchise process actually needs.

• When you apply: your name, email address, phone number, the market you have in mind, your available liquid capital and net worth as ranges, how you would be involved, your timeline, your background, and how you heard about us. We use this to decide whether to invite you to the next stage, and to contact you about it.
• If we invite you: the date the Franchise Disclosure Document was made available to you and which version it was. We keep this because the law requires you to have the document at least 14 days before you sign anything or pay anything, and this is how both of us can show that happened.
• When you sign a document electronically: your name as you typed it, the moment you signed, the internet address and browser you signed from, a fingerprint of the exact document you signed, and the statement you agreed to. This is the evidence that makes an electronic signature meaningful, for your protection as much as ours.
• When you use the portal: the account information you give our sign-in provider, and ordinary technical records needed to keep the portal secure.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your consent

Submitting the application is your consent to us using the information for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, subject to legal and contractual requirements — for example, we must keep disclosure and signature records even if you decide not to proceed, because they evidence a legal obligation we owed you.

Where it is processed

The portal runs on hosting and identity services located in the United States. Your information is therefore stored and processed outside Canada, and while it is there it is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by US authorities. We use established providers under their standard data-processing terms and give them only what they need to run the service.

Who else sees it

Inside Thindi, your application is read by the founders, Anuja Mehta and Abhilash Achar. Beyond that, we share personal information only with our own professional advisers where needed, such as a lawyer or accountant advising on the franchise, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Applications that do not proceed are kept for two years, then deleted, so we can answer questions about a decision and recognise a repeat applicant. Disclosure and signature records are kept for at least seven years, because they are the evidence that the disclosure rules were met. If you become a franchisee, records are kept for the term of the agreement and as long afterwards as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Email hi@thindi.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

Access to the portal is by invitation. Franchise documents are served only to signed-in people whose access has been approved, and the record of what you signed cannot be altered after the fact.
